Benvo vs Mews

Mews alternative: one guest record for rooms, dining and spa

Mews is a mature cloud PMS with a large app marketplace and strong multi-property tooling, and it suits hotel groups that want to assemble their own stack. If your hotel also runs restaurants, a spa, a club or events, Benvo puts rooms and everything else on one guest record without add-ons, at a lower monthly price for the core hotel jobs. Benvo is newer to hotels, so check that its booking site connections and door locks cover what you need today.

About Mews

What Mews is.

Mews was founded in 2012 by Richard Valtr, a former hotelier, after working in a hotel in Prague, and in 2024 raised $110 million at a reported $1.2 billion valuation. It sells a cloud PMS with payments, a booking engine and an open API, and extends into POS, revenue management and spaces through its own products and partners.

Choose Mews if

Hotel groups that want a proven PMS with an open API and hundreds of connected apps.

Choose Benvo if

Hotels where the restaurant, bar, spa or members club matters as much as the rooms.

Why venues move from Mews

Dining and spa on one record

On Mews, one guest view across dining and spa depends on the Mews POS and Spaces add-ons. On Benvo, stays, tables, treatments and bar spend sit on the same guest record by default.

Guest messaging without a higher plan

Mews places guest messaging, kiosks and revenue tools in its Pro plan. Benvo includes a shared inbox for WhatsApp, email and SMS, and Chloe answers guests day and night.

Member and club rates

Mews supports loyalty and private rates but not club membership tiers. Benvo prices rooms by member tier, which matters for clubs with bedrooms and hotels with a members bar.

Lower price for the core jobs

Rooms, front desk, housekeeping and booking sites cost about $510 a month on Benvo, against a typical $900 for Mews with booking sites.

Where Mews is stronger

  • Mews has an open API and a large marketplace of connected apps, which Benvo does not offer.
  • Its channel manager is live with the major booking sites today, while Benvo connections go live after certification.
  • Mews has years of hotel deployments behind it, including large multi-property groups.
